Cupcake Craft Challenge #33 Sketch

I am inspired by all the cardmakers & scrappers out there! Cupcake Craft Challenge presented a new sketch in this week's challenge that seemed to work for me. I wanted to try something with the Warren the Bunny freebies so generously provided at http://tinkernco.blogspot.com/ , so I used both the papers and the images. I think it came out pretty cute considering I'm still so green at this. I just love the bunny - adorable, isn't he! The ribbons were some from my new baby girl stash I've been collecting - American Crafts Baby, Mother Goose. The Easter phrase on the inside of the card is from the Easter collection at Matilda. Thanks for looking!

Cupcake Take 2 - AND Papertake Weekly Challenge - Dawny's Sketch #11

Ok, so my second try to fulfill a challenge took me nearly as long to complete as the first one - good thing these aren't timed! I needed a card for a three year old friend of Benji, so found my dinosaur paper and gave the Cupcake Challenge's monster challenge another go. I also gave a stab at the layout in this week's challenge at Papertake Weekly Challenge. The paper is from Studio 8 Paper Company's Dinosaur Land Collection - isn't it just CUTE! I added a wiggly eye to Mr. T Rex, because who can't resist wiggly eyes! The base blue and the plane green are SU! cardstocks. It looks like my main theme is "busy" ... I tend to use busy paper and I commit to using one of everything. I'll have to work on that. Jim's always telling me I need to "simplify" - seems that's the case here too! Anybody got any suggestions?

Ok this is my first challenge attempt - I used the theme "Monsters" from the Cupcake Craft Challenges and the layout from the challenge at Tayloredexpressions.blogspot.com. I don't like it as much as I tought I would, but I'm just pleased I finished it. It took me hours to put it together since I'm such a novice. Frankie is from SU's Batty for You set. His flower and the heart/flower are rub-ons from SU's Love & Happiness. I used the brown versions, but it looks purple in my photo. The green cardstock and Frankie's quote are also SU (SU "Smarty Pants").

Since I am so "green" - no pun intended! - I would welcome any comments. Please! For starters, what's the secret to taking such good photos of your cards? I had a terrible time with the flash!

"One for the Money...Two for the show..."

Now it's time to go! I have spent the last several weeks just salivating over everyone's blogs and their beautiful artwork. Just looking at so much talent made me want to dig in and stamp, cut and paste until my supplies were exhausted. BUT, alas, as mother to Benji - my three year old bundle of energy - and Gabby - our new gem, now 10 weeks old - I'm lucky to have enough energy to form a complete sentence, or the TIME to complete a sentence, let alone an entire craft project! So, instead, I've spent the evenings setting up this blog, while watching "Bolt" with Benji before bed...and holding Gabby after being away from her all day at work. I love the challenges, and I'm hoping these will help me focus and get something done. On that note, I think I'm going to try and give one of these a shot!
